"The Abomination," set in present-day Syria, published in the UK literary magazine Wasafiri

“The Abomination,” a  short story set in present-day Syria, is recently published in the UK magazine Wasafiri, for 30 years well known as the leading British literary magazine for contemporary writing. It features Bashar al-Assad’s Shabiha (Ghost Killers) who terrorize parts of Syria. Europe faces the dire situation of the Syrian refugees in Greece, at the borders with Macedonia, in Serbia, and other places. The refugees  do anything to reach Europe and start a new life. When you've read "The Abomination," you will better understand their determination to flee their country, where barbarian terror reigns.

There is a print edition, but you can also read my story for free online: http://goo.gl/gDTCgk
