Papaver - Poppy - 2002

Inspector Samantha Duchène is visiting a friend in Burma who is working for Médecins Sans Frontières in the Golden Triangle. In a land full of spirits and deities, Duchène finds herself in the middle of the conflict between the junta forces and the Wa rebels. Peter Declerq tracks her through the jungle with the help of Dutchman and retired former journalist André Horter. When Duchène and Declerq try to escape Burma with the help of opera actor Wa Sun, they observe that people always keep secrets from one another, sometimes with lethal consequences.
